Randomania allows development practitioners to think about the challenges of evaluating projects and designing randomized control trials for development projects. The game takes the player through the different scenarios they can face in the field and walks them through a decision tree based on the actions of the player.
Randomania was developed with support from World Bank Strategic Impact Evaluation Fund (SIEF). After discussions with WB staff working on education projects, it was felt that a game on monitoring and evaluation of development projects would address a multi-sectoral operational need. The design was further narrowed down after discussions with the SIEF team and a game specifically focused on the challenges of designing Impact Evaluations was developed.
